TRANSFORMATIONS PART 2:
EQUINE AGILITY
- as
it is labeled now, used to be what was known and what Gwen taught
as "extreme trail courses" ... For decades Gwen has taught horses to
accept going over bridges, teeter totters, through 'car washes', gates,
'turnstyles and tunnels and even jumping through rings or standing
in hula
hoops or up on platforms. Now we have a formal program known as
Equine Agility. This type of teaching encourages the horse, teaches
'thinking' through spooky and scary situations as well as instilling
trust
and respect for the human partner. It is fun, can be done with horses
of all ages and breeds and disciplines. It helps the horse develop the
ability to optimally 'perform' no matter waht the situation. Trailer
loading? Piece of cake. Going through streams? Fun! Going over strange
terrain? No problem. The horse learns to adapt and even welcome the
challenges that is presented before him.
BODY WORKS-
Identifying and releasing muscle spasms that contribute to lameness, poor
performance, undesireable behaviors and hoof problems. Utilizing a
combination of Acupressure,
Neuromuscular Release, Stretching/Flexing and Stress & Trigger
Point Releases,
Gwen will locate your horse's pain and spasm points and gently release
them so your horse can
move and function in comfort again. Before chiropractic work be sure to
have the muscles spasms released so the muscles don't pull the chiro
adjustments out of place again. (Many times chiro won't even be needed
after a body work session.) Pain can be the cause for so many
"behavioral" issues as well as
compromised performance.
This
mare shown above is an aged girl with previous, unknown severe physical
injuries. The results of these injuries are not only shown in her
hooves but throughout her body. In one session Gwen helped release the
pelvis as you can see in the above photos. Above right - before Body
works session; Bottom left - after Body works session. The owner
reported remarkable improvement in movement and comfort in the
days/weeks following the Body Works session.

offering scheduled workshops and demonstrations at Penzance, Gwen also

WHOLE
HORSE CARE: The
definition of "health" is being free of "dis-ease" as a whole.
The
horse is a whole being - physically, mentally and emotionally. All
facets of this is taken into account in Gwen's work. Behavioral issues
that are sorted through may be supported with herbs, homeopathy,
acupressure, touch therapy (bioenergy) or other non-invasive and
organic treatments. Diet recommendations, environmental and social
conditions are also considered along with supportive therapies in order
to allow the horse to be 'whole'.
Equine Asst. PERSONAL
DEVELOPMENT: Horses
are our mirrors. They have an uncanny way of uncovering and
exhibiting our own challenges we face even when we may not be aware of
them. They, themselves, make the most perfect teachers -- we only have
to listen and be willing to change ourselves. Gwen helps facilitate
personal development and leadership growth with the horse being the
prime instructor.
Private sessions and semi. Will travel.
