Feeding the IR Horse

Now that you've read the above articles you have an idea of how important the horse's diet is with respect to Insulin Resistance (as well as many other dis-eases of the Horse).
The following nutrients/minerals are ESSENTIAL to helping stabalize or curing EMS/IR:
Magnesium - Vanadium - Chromium - Manganese - Zinc - Vitamin C
So, just where can one get these necessary essentials for their horses without resorting to processed, artificial supplements? Below is a listing of each with respective vegetables or fruits and nuts that carry the properties.
BOLD indicates highest levels of the properties.
CHROMIUM:
Apple, Banana, Green Beans, Basil, Oranges, whole wheat, GARLIC, BROCCOLI
MAGNESIUM:
GREEN LEAFY VEGETABLES, Cashews, Pine Nuts, Bananas, Artichokes, Figs, YAMS/SWEET POTATOES, BROCCOLI, Peas, Lentils, Pumpkin/Squash seeds. Whole Grains - Barley, Oat Bran
MANGANESE:
Avocados, SEAWEED/KELP, Pineapple, Spinach, Broccoli, Oranges, Beans, Blueberries, EGG YOLKS.
VANADIUM:
Parsley, Soy, Corn, Olive Oil, Mushrooms, Dill Seed
ZINC:
PUMPKIN SEEDS, Beans, Peanuts, Whole Grains
HERBS THAT ARE BENEFICIAL IN EMS/IR:
CINNAMON (Chinese): 2 TYPES COMBINED FOR MOST BENEFIT - Gui Zhi (Ramulus cin. cassia) and Ron Gui (Cortex cin. cassia) These are especially beneficial with chronically laminitic EMS horses.
DO NOT USE Cinnamon during high fevers or bleeding and with HIGH INSULIN sensitivity (EPSSM horses.)
Burdock Root, Chamomile, DANDELION, FENUGREEK, GINSENG, Hops, Lemongrass, Parsley, Peppermint, Raspberry.
